Thanks Scott. I was tempted to do a full press Scagel style on it. Maybe next time.

Yeah, you could mount it on your bike. It would be a great blade for when the zombies get here

That's awesome. I always get excited when one of you guys posts your work because it's always really, really nice, and not disappointed with this, as usual. :thumbup: i also have to say, that blade finish for that hilt is the perfect choice. If it was high polish/gloss I think it would lose something overall, idk, just my opinion.

Thanks. The finish was done by a bath in ferric chloride, then pulling it out and sanding off the oxide. It leaves a nice, grayish finish on a blade.

that is a beauty! It looks like it could be from the Pacific Islands somewhere. I love that steel, too (the alloy). That is probably about the best hamon one can get on that alloy, too.
