While someone may likely not cut with it, is not the Spanish Notch on a sword length blade a possible stress riser?

That's a possibility, but I've been chopping with it for quite awhile now and feel confident it's a solid blade.

Chopping would be one feedback, I was thinking more of soft targets like wara rolls or bamboo that introduce lateral stressors. Confidence is good, just almost never see Spanish notches on swords, always figured it was for a reason.

At 15.5 inch blade length, I guess I just think of it as a big knife. I just felt artistic the day I made it, I guess.
