New Shoulder Rig From Survival Sheath Systems

VERY nice, Robert! Is that all webbing or is there elastic or neoprene on the straps?

Also, was the Aurora an afterthought? Why is it attached on top of the kydex instead of part of the "sandwich"?

Sweet rig! I wouldnt mind some $$ info on it as well. I could use one for my Bravo1 ....or any of the other 20 4" blades I have:confused: I am gonna have trouble choosing a blade for that rig.

can we get a pic of you wearing it, both in a tshirt and wearing a jacket over it??
pleeeeeeze....?

The Aurora has heavy knurling. Robert came up with the pouch idea (i wanted kydex intially ) because the knurling would ruin the kydex quickly.

That rig has no elastic, but the undersides of the harness are rubberized so the rig doesn't swing about on your body.

I'm glad you asked about the fire starter. That whole tube is aggressively knurled. I learned long ago on things like the SureFire 6p that eventually every time you draw a heavily knurled piece out you get a handful of plastic dust, so I did a little nylon rig like you'd get with a Fenix light.

Keeps the size of the rig down, it's very quiet, doesn't tear the hell out of the plastic or leave magnesium or metal shavings in the sheath after use which could then abrade your tool as well, which is how plastic sheaths get the reputation for "scratching" blades. It's not the plastic but abrasives embedded in the plastic which act like sandpaper.

Rigs like this are very gratifying to work on. I feel like they really are the essence of my businesses philosophy, always prepared, but comfortably hidden and accessible.
