New Site - www.boblumknives.com

well, currently @ 4:00AM, the main pages are all loading within 4 seconds on my 56K, and the gallery pages are all loading within 15 seconds.. (guest #10, woo!)..

great looking site! very very clean!

Edit:
okay, make that 15 seconds on the gallery pages initially.. after the first gallery loaded, the rest are loading much faster.

My only suggestion would be use pop-up windows for blow-ups of the photos. I always liked pop-up windows for viewing gallery photos. But that's based on my personal preference.

Some damn nice looking knives BTW. I'm not usually one much for tantos, but I really dig the grinds on his. Somewhere inbetween traditional and Americanized. Very stylish.

EDIT: I'm not entirely sure of the purpose of the front page. It'd seem more streamlined just to take us to the main/welcome page. At the least I'd suggest a redirect so we're not looking at the front page wondering what to do (doesn't take much to realize you click the logo to continue, but you know how some people can be).

I like it. It loads very fast wich is refreshing in this cable/adsl oriented world. I like that alrounder.......

The page loads quickly for me on a 56K dial-up. I like it...clean and uncluttered. I am with Planterz on the "entry" page (a website trend that I have never understood); take me straight to the homepage, please.

I will gladly accept that Framelock Chinese Folder as payment for my invaluable feedback ;)

I think it's a great looking site and the pics are very nice. I have to say I love his designs. The only suggestion I would make is on the link for pricing info, it would be nice to have a list of basic prices, i.e. "$250 and up" or something like that. Then you can get an idea if it's anywhere near your spending range and feel more comfortable about inquiring further.

Hey, Mitch! Good job! My 56000 modem is connected at 46667 just now and the pages just pop! right up when I click on anything. Very clear pics, too, but that's also due to Bob's clean designs.

I wouldn't mind prices somewhere, like on the full-size pictures.

So how come I feel like I came through a time warp ... ?

VERY quick loading, out here in the rural dial-up-land.

Beautiful knives as well!

Did I mention that I have no money? :grumpy:

Quick loading, and a very clean site.

I've never been in the custom knife market, but I personally get annoyed at any retail-type site that doesn't have any hint of pricing information. Generally I'm going to a web site for a quick info fix at 2 AM, and don't want to call someone and bug them just to find out that a product is out of my price range. A price range listing for the knives (i.e. "$150 - $275 depending on options") would be helpful.

Quibbling grammar-nazi observation: On the "Links" page, you left out the apostrophe in "friend's".

A decent price list please? I know they're custom, but an estimate like those found with Crawford would be nice

I LOVE sites that don't have a bunch of mumbo-jumbo to wade through just to SEE THE F***IN' KNIFE! Another "Great Job Mitch" from a 56k guy, :)
Now, about my consultant fee...

Please have a Folding Tanto II shipped to me via USPS priority with delivery confirmation... :D

Very nice, clean design.

You might want to add a page to list shows where Mr. Lum will be presenting his knives.

And, on the first page, the so-called "doormat page," you might want to add a note like, "click on the logo to enter the site" just because some folks less-familiar with modern websites may not know enough to do that and may walk away saying, "I went there, but it was just a big logo."

LMAO...
