New Site - www.boblumknives.com

I'm with Torz and Esav, I love the site and several of the fixed blades, but being of modest means I would find a basic price guide helpful in determining if I should even consider inquiring further. Otherwise it's a great site.

Putting some prices up would save you answering a lot of e-mail from people who have no idea what they're talking about.

"I like that there knife. It's kind ah purdy. It's like that one they have down at Walmart for $12.50, but a bit fancier. I'd give ya twenty bucks for it."

looks good, loads fast.

don't care for "doormat" pages either

maybe set up thru email a quick price check system where the user sends out an inquiry via email and an email comes back to him automatically with a price

i also like big pics :) click on small pic to see full screensize pic

hope the feedback is useful

nice job

Oh Lordy,

I need that folding skinner!! It's so beautiful and that Chinese folder is awesome. My humble Spydie version is one of my faves. Great site, agree on the price issue though, it'd be nice to have some pricing guidelines.

You know, it would be nice if my email isn't directed into the "suspect mail" folder when I'm trying to send a product information request. It doesn't encourage people to contact the maker if their email is directed into basically a garbage folder.

Sincerely,
Anthony

Hey guys thanks for the input. I don't have a "doormat" on my site, but some customers want it. I'll take the "click to enter" into account. I had a border around the logo before so it was more of an indicator to click on it, but it looked goofy.

I don't have "pop-ups" on the pictures 'cause I find the second window terribly irritating. The window pops up, you look at the picture, then either you gotta click it to close or you gotta "alt+tab" or click onto the orginal window. Then when you click another image, either it opens it in the already popped up window or it pops up yet another window. All in all I feel it's very cluttered. The way I've designed it, you click a thumbnail and the image comes up - most modern mice and trackballs have a "back" button on them to get you back to the gallery in one click with no mouse movement. (sorry, long winded)

There are no prices in the gallery because those are past knives which have been sold. If you're interested, like the "pricing" page says, for now contact Bob regarding what you want specifically.

A "Show's I attend" page would be a good idea, but I think Bob only does three shows - New York, Eugene and Blade. I guess the fact that I don't know for sure means that info should be on the site ;)

Glad it loads fast for all the dialup guys!

You did a great job - simple, elegant, and no nonsense. Loaded fast for me, but I have (employer-provided) cable.

Mitch,

Maybe you know the answer, is Bob going to be at Blade? I have wanted one of his folders for a long time. I have tried on eBay and various places for a bit to get one. I didn't see his name on the Blade exhibitor list, so I was just curious since you mentioned it.

Nice, clean design and to the point! Well done Mitch!
I'm on a pretty fast connection, so load times are pretty much irrellevant, I suppose!:)

Edit: I just realized you weren't looking for input on the site itself, but how it loads. It loads fast. Forget about the pricing, nobody wants to know that stuff anyway. ;)

Good Luck!

I like the site alot. Loads fast on dial-up, and its very minimalistic and uncluttered. And the knives are just beautiful!

Nice site, does the job clearly and quickly. That All Rounder knife looks great, like a big, stout Calypso. Would love to see a Spyderco version.
