New skin for my 0550

Don from GatorScales made the scale, he is just a great guy to work with and he did and excellent job. I can't believe the finished product.

I always loved the knife but I wasn't crazy about the scale, even plain G10 would have been a huge improvement (IMO) but this really made a large difference.

I agree. The scale feels almost sharp in your hand. It could have been much smoother with more rounded edges.

Don is great to work with, just last week I had one of his CF 0550 scales waiting on me when I came in from work. It really completes the knife.

Does the Hinderer shop do anything unique with their CF scales? What sort of CF is that? I'm not all that familiar with CF (I'm generally too poor to hang out with CF scales let alone knives that come with it from the factory)

Yeah Don's scales are the best around. I've tried some others but the fit and finish wasn't quite as perfect as the ones I received from Don. Almost as nice as the man himself but I'm not sure that is even possible.
