I think I remember seeing a post that Spyderco was going to make another slipjoint type knife similar to the UKPK, but a little smaller. Does anyone know anything abou this?

Yep, it's going to be called the Urban. Only vague hints that it might be released around Feb 08, but that might change. It will have about a 2.5 in blade, with either foliage green or orange G10.

This is one that I'm waiting for.

Sal promised us a modular design, multiple handle colors and blade shapes, mix and match to roll your own. I WILL be getting some of these! :D

Great information. Looks like I will be adding this one to my "want list".

Thanks

Oh my.

Very nice.

Is the kick extended in the traditional Spyderco way such that if it closes on your finger, the kick hits you and not the edge?

Will it have a clip?

This might be the only folder I'd want to carry (and are legal!) in Chicago.

Nice.

Does anyone know what the spec's are supposed to be? Closed length, etc.

blade length - 2.5"
blade thickness - .120 (3mm)
handle length - 3.5"
Overall thickness (not including clip) 9.55mm
left / right tip up wire clip

Thanks for the reply Sal. I am definately looking forward to this one!

No, the damasteel was for a prototype or some kind of "one off" knife or something... There's info about the steel in that Spyderco forum thread, I believe.
