Hi folks, been a while since I posted anything, busy getting ready for summer shows. Here's a through the haft spike hawk that is almost finished. I used a small sledge hammer handle for the haft, it has fantastic grain alignment, is 22 inches, dyed with leather dye, wrapped in rawhide. I thought I'd try a light blade made from 5/32nds sawmill blade steel. Throws great and chops very well, razor sharp for camp work. The sheaths are Elkhide, dyed and tacked, still need a closer and ties.

Best regards

Robin

You've never made anything I didn't like Robin. It's great. When my rich uncle gets out of the poorhouse and dies, I have to have one of your creations....one of Randy's.....one of Kentucky's....etc.....etc. SO MANY HAWKS AND SO LITTLE MONEY! lol.

Awesome Brother R.
And your ground is green again!!

Hey Randy
We all miss you and your stuff here, hope you come back more often Bro. Yes, we finally have bare ground again, it was over 70 a week ago, has not gone back to below zero C. at night though. My photo rock is good to see this time of year.

Thanks Howard
I know what you mean. If I ever won the lottery I would make a lot of artists very happy people. Thanks for the kind comments my friend.

I had the chance to se this Hawk in person a few days ago, its very comfortable, sharp, and extremly fast.
You guys should see Robin split a card when throwing.
Was good seeing you again Robin, Keep up the good work!

Mike

Hi Mike
Always great to visit with you. Splitting the card was likely a fluke ;-)) Although I did it twice with this hawk, maybe I should keep it ;-))

R

If I every split two cards with a hawk, you would have to pry it out of my cold dead hands!

:D Here's a funny story Howard. Two years ago I was doing a show when someone announced that you could sign up for the tomahawk throwing contest that was just starting outside. I quickly tucked two hawks under my arm and ran out to sign up. As I approached I saw three guys throwing three hawks each one after another at VERY small log slice targets. There was literally No time between throws. As I got closer I saw that all three had split the aces of spades with all three throws ;-(((
The hawks were edge to edge right in the middle of the cards ,ALL NINE. I quick like a bunny turned and went inside again.:D
I met them all later and it turned out that the one guy was the Canadian champion so I didn't feel so bad . I started pinning a card to my throwing tree and it helped a lot. I've been hitting the card more often lately. ;-)

Wow. That would be seriously impressive. I'll have to come see you for lessons, Robin. I'd just be happy to stick it in the log. :D

My partner Christine calls it my "Zen time" ;-)) I'll tell ya, it always surprises the hell out of me when I hit the card.

I generally stick my trail hawk in my 3x3 target. I'm getting more in the 6 inch circle than in the past. Unfortunately, it's hard to practice where I live. I would love to see some guys with those kind of skills.
