I just picked one of these ti ware sporks from REI for the 09 backpacking season. I had a snow peak spork for a few years and decided I needed something that fit in my cookset better. here is the answer.

Boomer sup man.
Thats funny cause I just got a Snow Peak Titanium Spork. I needed to make an order $50 so I could get free shipping and that was really the only thing I needed around $10. That one looks alot better though. I guess I need one of those now. Thanks alot....

i got a folding one from brasslight when it slimmed down their business and decided to only sells stoves... a friend recently gave me a non folding snowpeak one , I think the snowpeak one is more solid lighter and more durable

What keeps it from folding up when you're trying to eat?

Friction? Or a lock of some kind?

I'm holding out for the new LMF titanium spork. Then I can sharpen off the serrations. :D

I have a snow peak, I bent over into a loop like a heroin junkies "works". It works well though, put index finger through loop, and thumb on top. I dig it.

They always make these fold the wrong way. They fold towards the weight of the food instead of against it. It should fold the other way so heavy food can't possibly make it collapse.

I've always thought this too.

But personally I think that someone needs to make something like the Forschner tomato knife and put a spoon on the butt of the handle.

Or even make a sheath for the blade that had a spoon on the end of it. I mean, before forks were introduced into Europe from the middle east everyone just held their food down with the tip of their spoon, cut their food, and picked it up with the tip anyway, so why not?

I have this one also. The first time I tried it I was so frustrated that it kept folding on me while I was using it! I was going to angrily return it to REI when I figured out that you slide the horizontal brace down toward the spoon to lock it. :o Works like a champ!

Snow peak has a new spork that has a much shorter wider handle than the oroiginal. I believe they call it a stubby.

looks like a great piece to have on a backpacking trip.
After you get it out into the field, let us know how it works for you.

Hello,

I guess that they look the same........ Because they are the same!

Its what we used to call 'Badge Engineering', notice how familiar some of the titanium products on the page are, some even have the US company brand name on!

Small world huh!

That's the type of spork you take with you up Everest or to Mars. Very nice mate, i'm still using a spoon I 'borrowed' from a restraunt a few years ago.
