I am pretty sure they replace those with metal clips when you send those in.

Tom, the problem that I tried to get across to Danelle is that the damned broken clips caused to lose the knives. I no longer have them.

As to the 3" limit in DC, I am told that is the case and I sure don't want to test it the hard way! It seems DC has outlawed nearly everything but being a victim, and, given enough time, they'll figure some way to do that. But there is hope in the election of Anthony Williams as Mayor and the disappearance of David
Scull (sadly through death, I would have wished another way)from the Board. Williams replaced the infamous Marion Barry and Scull was what Col. Jeff Cooper calls a "Hoplophobe", one who fears an armed person.
