We received our Green Manix today. This is our first Manix (of any sort) and we reeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaally love this knife! Pics to follow shortly, but what a great all around EDC this one is. Feels great in the hand, a bit heavier than my Military's, but makes up for it by how solid this knife feels.

I thought the sypderco website said that the Manix is disscontiuned? it sounds sweet, and i'll be waiting to see some pics.

I'd be buying one as it looks awesome but I'm afraid I've been trying to get a product from each notable maker...and Spyderco is accomplished :(

I've been looking at purchasing the Manix, but I sure would like to see a side by pic with a Tenacious,to get some perspective of the size.

Thanks Lucien i'll lay out my Tenacious on the key board touching the same letters. That should work:thumbup:

westfork Awesome pic's!
Compared to my Tenacious the Manix is a big boy:p
Just like Crocodile Dundee "That's not a knife, this is a knife"
Thank you.

One thing I really like about the full-sized Manix is how the G10 handle grabs your hand. The handle protrusions are spaced just right to squeeze the outsides of my index finger and little finger. Make for a very secure grip, almost as if the knife is holding on to you with no effort on your part.

Looks like one of those Highland cattle, on your avatar, tough little buggers;)

I still cant choose between a 610 a 302 a p kal or this Manix.

Are the 610 and 302 discontinued or in limited production? For what it's worth, once this sprint run is sold out there's a good chance we won't see another Manix like this for a while. Of the four you mentioned, I'd get the Manix. The P'Kal is still in production after all.

Quick question:
I also just recieved a FG-G10 Manix and while teh color is growing on me...I still long for it to be black. Has anyone tried to color (paint or stain) G10 before with good results? How about with vinyl dye?

G-10 is pretty chemical resistant. I can't think of anything that wouldn't wear off with use. Or, you could find someone with a black Manix who wants to trade.

Good point one i almost forgot about given the amount on ebay at the moment.
I orderd one on Mon because these will be going up in price soon like you said i paid only $140 delivered to the UK.I know that price will be a lot higher in no time.
Ive never held a Manix but prefer the look of the FG.I like big folders and this looks one of the best although i have never even touched one yet.
From what ive read it wont be out cut by any folding knife of similar size on the market. The more i read about this knife the more i like the sound of it.
Your advice is spot on.

I have been EDC'ing this blade for a couple of weeks. I didn't realize it was a limited production run when I purchased it, but that makes it even more attractive!

Originally I purchased this blade b/c I wanted my first Spyderco. I finally settled on this model because of the steel and the scale materials. I also liked the lock mechanism. All-in-all, it looked like it would be a nice piece of equipment. I can tell you that the Manix has met every expectation I had for it. The price was fair and the quality is top notch. It also came out of the box hair-popping sharp, which is never bad.

The only drawbacks, to me, are that it is a little large and can get in the way when I am trying to put my hand in my pocket. It also pulls a little on my pants when I am wearing something lighter weight than denim. I wouldn't trade it for anything though!
