I just got an email from this outfit offering to supply me steel for my knives.

http://www.egroundstock.com/index.html

Looks like a good outfit (for my interest) O1 and W1.... O1 was a bit more than flatground.com and W1 was a touch cheaper.

Just thought I'd throw it up here for you guys to add to your list.

And NO... I have absolutely nothing to do with this company.

Not bad. I got good or better pricing from NWA in the For Sale forum. Thanks for the link though!

Not bad pricing. I still believe that Enco has the best price on W1 drill rod and possibly on the O1 as well.

Nick,

I just want to say that years ago I tried purchasing from egroundstock.com. I ordered some A2 and a week went by and then another week and another week. 3 weeks past by and still no A2. I called the guy (Mark) and he said he would look into it. Another week went by. I called him back and he said he would look into it. I'm guessing you know where the story is going. Never did they bother telling me what the heck was up with my order, but everytime told me he would look into it. Finally, I just had to call my credit card company and tell them i got ripped off.

The odd part is, prior to that, their service was pretty good. Their prices however are still higher than flatground.com I believe unless you buy mass quantities.

Just throwing in my .02 cents.

Mark,

That was 4 years ago.

I have used Flatground several times with great results. That said, I made a trip to Aldos the other week for some 1084. Aldo has quite a stock of ground O1 and his prices are a bit cheaper than Flatground.

Got the same e mail. I have ordered from them years ago and didn't have any problems, but that was years ago. As I remember, one of the reasons I used them is that I could order one or two pieces of steel and shipping was reasonable.
