I came home for lunch yesterday and waiting by my front door was a box with two new knives in it. A Kershaw Needs Work with a stone washed 13C26 and G-10 scales over the stainless steel liners and a new OD-1 with a stone washed 14C28N blade and bright orange G-10 on the non-lock side of the handle. These are two very nice little knives, especially at their street prices. Here are some pictures of my latest prizes.

The OD-1 is a great knife. I really like the action, and the fact that it has no springs is pretty impressive to me. Good size, good steel, good lock.

I hadn't seen the G10 Needs Works, but it looks pretty nice.

i love my funky looking Needs Work blade; it has been a wonderful utility knife and i use it all the time...if it was an option at the time i would have gotten it in g10...

I like the OD-1 even more now with the orange G-10. Its a very nice little knife. The G-10 Needs Work is new. I like the look better than the original handles.

The blade does look kinda funny, but came from the factory very sharp. Glad to hear that you use yours all the time and like it. I'm going to give mine a try and see how I like it.

love the OD-1! Needs Work is nice looking in the G-10 too...always thought the other one kinda looked like a toy. Call me crazy, but I kinda wanna get one, get it re-profiled to an insanely acute angle and use it as my razor...Cheaper than a DOVO and pretty bad ass IMO :D

I have one of the older models of Needs Work, and found it to be a great utility tool! I too haven't seen the new G-10, looks great! I currently EDC a ENERG-2 with G-10 and since the scales are rubber inserted and the G-10 scales aren't ground, I find it to be a real blue jeans pocket ripper. Knife is great, just wears my jeans out. I'll be looking to get another Needs Work now that I've seen yours.

I have 11lbs of them sitting here on the desk.

(Thanks bro)

Oh, there are some Half-Tons in there too. ;)

What is that 13C26 steel?? The knife looks quite sexy tho.

The 13C26 and 14C28N are Sandvik steels. I think the 13C26 is a surgical or razor blade steel and the 14C28N is a custom formulation developed with input from Kershaw.

Here's a link to a data sheet at Sandvik's website for 13C26:

I really like the different colors of G-10 that Kershaw is using. I have the orange Tyrade, and my newest is the tan Tyrade. There is one thing I would like to see Kershaw do, and that is green G-10, maybe Ranger green?
