I have to say that I like the feel of the small one very much. It is what I call "hand friendly", especially compared tp the large model.
It has the same coarse texture on the scales and the same rough edges but I kind of like that. It makes for a VERY positive grip.
The large handle is good for the larger blades and absolutely necessary if one wants to wear gloves while using it. Lots of control and great leverage when needed.
I find that the smaller size fits into my hand, rather than through it. It doesn't stick out past the heel of the palm like my large ones do and, with the smaller blade, it makes the knife very controllable. It just has a much more comfortable feel.
I really think that when the mini spearpoints come out they will be a big hit. The tantos are fine but limited in overall utility.
The spearpoints OTOH are almost unlimited in their usefulness. The blade is much more practical and, with the high hollow grind and E2K, a much more effective cutter.
This is the first factory knife I would consider making a direct comparison to the CRK Sebenza. (If you knew how I feel about the Sebenza, you would know that is quite an endorsement.)
Either size is great but the small spearpoint will be exceptional. The guys at Strider Knives really hit the mark with this one. I just wish it were coming out sooner.
