New Strider SMF

Did I take the wrong path to purchase? Have I missed the boat?

Afraid so...the serial numbered one's never "hit the market", they were all pre-sold and most have been delivered. There were a couple that could not afford them when it was time to pay but apparently plenty on the list for back up.

The non-serial numbered ones should be available soon, those are the one's you can buy on the net or at the stores. The only reason I went with the serial numbered one is some of the money went to buy one just like it for one of our hero's in the military.

It is a bad knife, definantly worth the wait.

The non serial numbered ones will be available through TAD, I would preorder with them to ensure that you get one.

Thanks for the advice guys. I did pre-order on Sept. 19, but I guess I was too late.:grumpy:
Now I wait. Sure hope I can get one. (Serial number isn't that important to me, it will be a user.)

For those of you who havent see this knife: Its the one in the middle.

Got mine today, #80. It's my first Strider folder.

Bruz said it all. He could have been describing #80, except it is still a little stiff for Brownie Popping. I feel lucky to have it.

Is there a functional reason for making one of the scales from G10 (vs. Ti)? Or is it just a matter of cost and manufacturing ease?

Thanks,
Rich

Ever handle a knife with Titanium scales with your hands covered with blood? Well, neither have I but I reckon it would slip right out of your hands! G-10 for grip, Ti for toughness and the cool factor. ;)

Well, it makes a great steak knife. The angle of the blade makes cutting food on a plate easy. No, I didn't have bloody hands and I did wash the blade well before and after dinner. :)

Well guys, Canada has never seemed so far away from the States then the last few days - and I still have not seen my SMF yet. :(

Ah, the joys of Canada Customs and increased Christmas parcels....

I'm still hoping I see it before Christmas.

For those of you wondering about the durability of the G-10 slab, Mick tested and photo-demonstrated that they're nothing to be sneered at....

:)

It's debatable whether if that side of the frame is "tougher" than the Ti !
