Dumb question: how are the Subcom 42 and Trance 42 different from those already in the catalog?

The particular German law is weapon law § 42 a, this is why we call some models "forty-two" or "42"
The law says, no locking mechanism = legal
no thumb stud, disc, hole etc, no one hand operation = legal
Both together: one hand operation and locking mechanism = restricted to carry, you have to have a legal reason to carry and use it, NOT ILLEGAL!!!
But, you are allowed to carry 12 cm bladed knife (a little more than 4.5") every day, without having a legal reason.
