I thought you all would like to know this. Over on knifenews.com there's an article about a limited edition knife by Ferrum Forge called the Stinger. It's being made of a new metal alloy called SM 100, a titanium-nickel mix. Anyway it sounds interisting, and expensive. Does say it takes more effort to sharpen but you don't need anything special to do so. I don't think a smooth rock off the ground will sharpen it so I'll be sticking with my cheap stuff.

Elliot has made a bunch of knives out of that sm 100. He has a few youtube videos about it as well. Pretty sure when you heat treat it it turns a purple color and looks pretty cool.

I just got the new issue of Blade in the mail yesterday, and they have a nice article on this.
