Making knives for everyone else had to wait while I made myself a new EDC knife.
Ground from 1/8" 01 Tool steel deferentially heat treated with clay and given a chisel ground edge at 20*. It has a satin finish done with a green scotch brite belt after a 400 grit finish.
Handle is cord wrapped "ala Phill Hartsfield style" ,discussed a few weeks ago here, and coated with epoxy. It feels great and is probably the best non slip grip I have handled. A big thank you to Pohan Leu for all his help.
OAL is 7.25" with a 3.25" blade
It still needs a few tweeks but thought I would throw up a picture before I screw it up.
This is designed to be a neck knife...Yup thats right
I also made a metal sheath for it similar to a "Hartsfield Style" sheath. It is aluminum sheath fitted to the knife and given a plastic rubber coating. It is really slim and light but strong.
