New testing ideas: Becker Challenges

For my birthday coming up my wife ordered me a new Machax! That will bring the Becker stable up to 3; a necker, campanion, and a machax (and a bk5 on the way next month). So what I'm looking for is some unique testing ideas from all of you Beckerheads. Completely unorthodox methods of testing my small but growing Becker family. I will try to the best of my ability to complete and photo document the challenges. So start brainstorming!

BK4 + try stick = knowledge and new found respect.

Destruction testing, or just testing to see what tasks you are able to perform best with it?
I'll bet there are plenty of destruction tests that could be dreamed up here :-)

Beside the destruction test fest - you could try to find out how they perform in opposing roles. Let the necker do the Machax work and vice versa. If you can carve a teaspoon with the Machax - that'll be quite a feat. See how the ergonomics enhance / hinder this or that work. This way you (and we too, as you should write up your experiences in the most minute detail with lots of pics:)) find out the capabilities of your three Beckers and we will encourage you relentlessly :D with witty comments:)

A try stick with the BK4 will teach you a ton about that blade. Heck, I messed up a fair amount with the BK15.

I can think of a lot of unorthodox idea right now, but most of them are illegal. Too much sarcasm in this head of mine.

I found this one to be a bit more likely to accomplish with the 4:

The other one posted is a better one to test yourself with, but features 8, 9, and 11 will likely prove near impossible for a 4, especially feature 11 of the first posted photo of the trystick.

I would like to try that spoon test with the machax. I have cross cut battonned quite a bit with the necker before I got my big knives.

That looks like quite a fun project. I looked it up online and found a few more examples and instructions for it. I'd like to do this with all of my beckers. Do you have a picture of the one you did with your 15?

I've done try sticks with the Machax. It's really rather simple. The Machax does small knife work really well.

That is what is so surprising about it. I am glad that I have done them with my 4, if for no other reason than to have the comfort in knowing what it can do in my clumsy hands.

Have you done one with the RBK yet?

No, but it would do just as good as the Machax. If not slightly better. The RBK is crazy good at carving. Working with the tip would take a forward blade grip just to compensate for the weight.

I would like to get an RBK one day. But for right now I can't spent $140 on it and $56 for a machax seems like a steal.
