New things... and not a Desert Eagle..

Ran 300 rounds through her yesterday and zero her in. I'm going to throw on an aimpoint micro, but I think I'm just running irons this season. Like I said, in all likelyhood I won't be shooting past 50 yards. 180 grain .308 at 50 yards is not something i'd like to be hit with.
 
post some targets if you get a chance. still haven't shot mine yet. would love to get you feedback on the aimpoint vs. iron sights.

my plan was to stick with iron sites since that was had ms go with m1a over the fnar. won't really feel good abou the choice until I try 100 yards I guess.

I had the SOCOM II and loved it. That is one rifle I wish I never sold although I prefer the SOCOM 16 like you got over the II. I ran an Aimpoint ML3 2MOA with ARMS quick detachment base, worked out great. It was my first 308 and wont be my last. The sound of 308 hitting a steel plate at 100yards is just awesome.
I have an Aimpoint micro T1 if you want to try it out on your SOCOM.....just send me a PM if you are interested.
