I’ve been having a lot of fun in the shop this week! Back in December I delivered an axis stag chef companion and the fella requested an 8 piece steak set to compliment (as well as a utility knife that is coming down the pipeline). While very pleased with the set, the finished knives came with a list of things I’d like to do better next time but that’s what this journey is all about and the buyer is pleased- so we move on! I’d included a 9th steak knife in the original run, just to be sure I had one available if something went awry in the heat treat. Fortunately we had a smooth ride through the first 8, so I had some fun re-profiling this blade to be its own showcase and I am STOKED on this black sheep horn + musk ox combo. This rare and stunning handle option came to me by way of Chris Amos as a parting gift on the day I left Ed Fowler’s Willow Bow Ranch, where I lived and learned for six months.
