New to benchmade...need help choosing

710 in D2; 940 Osbourne in S30V (sweet knife, reverse Tanto blade, Axis lock); 635 Mini Skirmish in S30V; 690; 707 Sequel in D2 for a small knife.

If you don't want the 520 or the 525 due to the size or the handle, try the 940.Its smaller then the others but still has a 3.4in blade.

My family is interknifeal. I carry both a Benchmade and a Spyderco. They co-exist wonderfully. I have really become attached to the H&K 14210 that I got a couple of weeks ago. I didn't think anything would move my mini-RSK from my pocket, but the H&K has.

I would suggest looking at the H&K 14205 or 14210 first, then the Ritter Grips. All of those are great examples of Benchmade knives and they should all be within your budget.

I currently carry a spyderco police model with me every day and im looking for something new.
That features a hollow grind, doesn´t it?
Im looking for something thats going to be razor sharp, and a steel that i can easily bring back if it were to dull out over time.
Most BMs feature flat grinds and usually ppl. found Spydercos sharper out of the box.

I don´t know how well the new Griptilians with hollow ground blades are, but as a BM fan of their flat ground blades i can resist finding out by myself.

I think the Osborne line is your way to go.

Yeah my police model is a hollow grind, and i was looking for a benchmade that could rival the sharpness of my caly 3. So far i think im going with the ritter RSK Mk1

The red 940 is so nice in person.

I know (a little) of how you feel Robot- I started with Spyderco, and then decided, "well, there is a pretty even split between spydie fans and bench fans... maybe I should try a bench". Well, here I am later, having had one 710 stolen  by baggage handlers, and having bought a replacement. BM really does make a good knife if you know what you're after. *Note: this is not to say that I don't like spydercos now. I do, and I'm gonna get a pac. salt soon (I swim, and having a knife on me at all times? My wet dream! [pun intended]). I just think a lot of people find spydercos before benchmades, so most people gotta transition spydie to bench for trying things out. But that's just my opinion, based off the admiration my fellow students gave me with a spydie, and the complete lack of interest in my 710.*
