New to Blade Forums and Slipjoint Collecting!

Welcome luskrb!

As a fellow Pennsylvanian, and member of The Porch, I'm glad to have you aboard. This is a great place - full of wonderful folks and endless knowledge. My mistake was collecting slip joints for almost a decade before coming here.

In honor of your original post, I decided to share MY first 4 GECs (at least as I recall). The first 3 I'm sure of, #4 not as much...

1. #48 Trapper, cobblestone bone
2. #25 Easy open, grape jigged bone
3. #66 Calf Roper, Indian Choffee jig
4. #89 Riverboat Gambler, American elk

Dang, Ryan. You made some good choices early on! The 66 stockman is one of my favorites.
Thanks! The 48 and 25 were a result of the best available that I could afford at the time, but the 66 was one I had to save up for, and then be fortunate enough to find one left at a dealer. Might be the most useful pattern (#57 is close too, and I had to pass on yours the other day, and it was killing me. Just didn't have the funds though)

Benjamin, you have a great collection so far too. You can never go wrong with Barlows! The Northwoods is a winner too.

Welcome to the porch guys.

Very nice start down the road to poverty Lusk. :D

What part of NC are you in Jak I'm a little NW of Asheville,

I'm in the Salisbury area. Cool to see that you are from the mountains. I love going camping/hiking in the NC mountains. I would post a picture of my #12, two #15s, #26, #25, #38, #47s, and #85 but I do not know how. And the #35 forum knife if it ever comes in the mail!

Hi I am new here also. I really enjoy collecting slipjoint knives and I am only 16.
Welcome to The Porch, Jak3!! Sounds like you have a fantastic group of GECs already; you have 4 times as many as I do, and I'm 4 times as old as you!!:D I sent you a visitors message that contains an old post that I used to figure out how to post photos at BF; hope to see pics of your knives soon!

hi i am too.
I am from Spain .
I apologize if it is not well understood.
I use a translator
a greeting.
Welcome, Valenciamanu!! Assuming you're from Valencia, my daughter and I visited your city over King's Day 2015 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! On the evening of January 5, we had to fight our way through the crowds waiting for the parade to get to our hotel (Hotel Catalonia Excelsior?). A couple of days later, I bought this Joker at Cuchilleria Nebot:

I am already on the rode to poverty. I want to get me one of those one arm 15s and a nifebrite 14 for my 8 yr old son for his first knife. Its addicting for sure!.

The #15 was my second GEC ever and it is awesome. Antique yellow bone has to be one of the best cover options out there. That #15 has been used more than the first GEC I got, which was the #12.
