Eric,

All I can say is........ "YOU GO BOY"..........

This place has been lacking folks with the right attitude. Spend time looking around. Spend time reading (especially the stickies). Ask questions. With time comes the ability to filter through the garbage.

As far as "Having Extra Time".......... Do any of us have any extra time? With knifemaking, you learn to create that extra few minutes, hours, and days in order to learn and create.

Welcome sir, and if I can ever be of assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Robert

Robert,
So true about time and being creative!

I try to get in at least 30 hours a week in the shop these days, but I still have to be really creative. Sometimes I might get the girls in the bath/shower and tell them to clean up....then I run out to the shop and mix up some epoxy and glue up some handle slabs/liners....then I run back in the house and make sure the kids haven't flooded the bathroom :) I squeeze in small shop tasks whenever I can. Just got home from work...Jojo says dinner will be ready in twenty minutes? Hell, I can get a few knives profiled for the latest batch, and out to the shop I go. Work it in wherever you can. The awesome, understanding wife comes in very handy in this area!

Hey Greg,
I'm sure Chris would understand. I have spoken with Travis (TW-90) a few times and he has been really helpful. At one point I was thinking of building a "kit grinder" and he told me to check with Chris first. Chris's 3 arm grinder is totally awesome. I was also impressed with his new "little buddy" grinder.
Can't wait until I can make knives as nice as yours Greg, your scales are top notch.

I called the number and spoke with a not overly nice man who said "I guess you could come watch for a little while this weekend". Well, I didn't go and I will forever regret it, as that person was Bill Moran.

Great story! And the fighter looks great, too. Welcome!:D
