New to BladeForums.....question heavy

The ZT 0566 is my go to knife to suggest anytime anyone asks me what to get for their first nicer production knife. Its completely solid and built with pretty tough materials that can stand up to most anything. Plus it comes in under your budget leaving a little left over to make it a littler more personal by buying some ti standoffs or a custom scale. All that being said I carry a Benchmade 586 mini-barrage every single day regardless of what else I may also carry, I took the assist mechanism out of mine (not for the faint of heart on that knife) and its one of the smoothest opening knives Ive ever felt. The steel alone in the barrage series warrants giving them a look, not to mention theyre also built pretty tank like and have the axis lock. You cant go wrong with any selection you make, and Im sure youll be happy with whatever you choice you make.

I think you are on the right track. My first step into this price range folder was the ZT 0770CF which I have been pleased with. I think you can't go wrong with ZT's if you are comfortable with the price and the size. I like the size of the 0770.

Lots of good comments on the Southard here on BF. I would consider this one. I picked up a Native 5 in S35V which to me was pretty expensive. But then, I drop similar kinds of $ on traditional knives a few times a year and don't look back.

Thanks for the replies and the help along with the help with abbreviations lol. I just seen a zt0651 on the knife exchange here that's apparently brand new and a great price so I called dibs on it and am waiting for a reply.
