I've been lurking around here for a while and decided that it's time to finally purchase a Busse knife.

I like the looks of the one called the CG SFNO. CG means coated, right? Coated Grade? And SFNO stands for Super Freakin' Nacho Operator? Seriously, I'm not sure what it stands for, but I know I want one. Great looking blade.

Can someone here help me order one of these knives? I need a link to the company order form or to a store that sells them. I heard they sell for just under $300. Is that right?

and then you woke up.;):D

CG SFNO stands for "Combat Grade Special Forces Natural Outlaw". You couldn't have made a better (or, a worse, depending on how you see it) choice. There are many reasons for which I say so. First of all, this model is one of the most highly sought after Busse's, period! Although I own quite a few Busse's this one is not a part of my collection, at least not yet. However, people who have handled it or, even owned it state that this is one a knife that can accomplish many tasks with ease. Judging from what I have seen thus far, I have no reason to doubt these claims.
This model is out of production though. Given the respect it has earned and the fact that it is out of production you can only find one from the secondary market and there $300 a piece won't do you any good. I could easily see such a knife with regular handle scales going for $450 and with magnum fetching easily $500 to its current owner, provided it is mint.
If I could find them for $300 a piece I would buy 10 of them right on the spot, mostly if I could get them with magnum handles.

I am sorry for the breaking news. I believe that now you can understand why I mentioned earlier that you couldn't have made a better (or, a worse, depending on how you see it) choice.

One other thing: I would propose that you think many times before you buy any Busse knife because if you buy even one of them, the INFI virus will hit you harder than a sledgehammer. It is that addictive  :D!

BTW Guyon

I think that you can't go wrong if you order thecurrent Busse offering: the ASH-1. For a CG ASH-1 with regular handle scales you are looking at $297 plus $14.95 for shipping. I think that unless your hands are really big you won't need the magnum scales given the blade thickness is approximately .320"!

Here is the link for ordering this knife:

Hello and welcome, just so you know you cannot have any INFI till you drink the Kool-aid

Hi Guyon, welcome to the forums! Like others have said, you should probably carefully consider whether to try to buy a Busse or not, because once you get one, there likely isn't going back, and you'll find yourself wanting more, just one more, maybe two, three, and so on towards financial disaster.

Also, from some of the pics you've posted, you seem to have acquired a decent collection of Pakistani made fake Busses, including some cheapo satin finished ones. It just so happens that I've made a hobby out of researching those things, so if you could just pack 'em all up and ship them to my address, that would be good. I would of course pay the international air mail, and a small but certainly generous fee for your troubles and to compensate for the value of the rather large pile of scrap metal in those fakes. How about it? :D

Guyon,

The SFNO is highly overrated.
Get yourself one of these.

Andros, thank you for all the helpful information.

Elen, you must be thinking of my Gil Hibben fantasy knives. I'm slowly liquidating those.

Mulder, why does that look like my wood pile?

Welcome to the forums, you can't go wrong with a Busse knife. I should know, I'm the Uber-hog, I have one of every knife they have ever made. I am personal friends with Jerry and spend time drinking scotch whiskey and talking blade design. In fact most of the current knives have been my design, a fact not too many people know and one that Jerry would rather keep quiet. You can understand that I'm sure, so keep it under your hat. So the other day Jerry and I were...
Wife " Wake up you're talking in your sleep"
Me "Huh, who, what?":D

Guyon - i couldn't help but notice by the way you typed "Busse" that you may be pronouncing it wrong. Its "Bus" (as in the big city people mover) followed by "EEE". BUS-EE. Common error with new folks so don't sweat it. Welcome

Welcome to the Forums Guyon. :D

The CG SFNO is a great blade... and they can be found anywhere and every where...
they are a dime a dozen. You should have no trouble finding one... or three.

now... can I have some of what you're having? :D

You lil' stinky porker! :p
