will attempt to honor all siter rules and be a contributing member of this community. this is my first post and my foray back into collecting. My first piece is a recently purchase Kizlyar Phoenix fighting knife. Just fell in love with the look and figured if i ever venture into the open carry realm this wouldnt be a bad piece. So i figured i was going to start with 4/5 display case fighting knives, bowies, skinners, daggers and as yet undecided in 5th type any suggestions on additions to the collection or places to look is appreicated (not looking for you to try to sell me your stuff) also i have been trying to find some information on AN-58 steel. couple of blades i am looking at are made of An-58. i cannot find much info on this steel unlike 440a 440c san mai etc. i guess fact that i cannot find much info might be all the info i need. anyone can point me to some info. appreciated KNYFEGUY

dont know anything about the AN-58 steel

but welcome aboard,,
im sure someone from this great forum could be of better help..

Welcome to Blade Forums
Also sorry, but I am unfamiliar with AN-58. Is it a Chinese manufactured steel? If you could you name or place a link to the knives that contain this steel, I or someone else may then be able to provide more information for you.

on the world knives website one of the knife makes miguel Nieto most of his blades use the An-58 steel. like i said i cant track any info down on it i have already linked to a couple of sites that do a pretty thorough run down on knife steel and no info on the An-58

Welcome to the forums. I havent heard of An58 either.

As for a 5th choice.. balisongs, autos (if legal in your area), traditional slippies (peanut, trappers, etc) ???
