new to emerson.. just got a persian..

Hi All,
I am pretty much a newbie to this forum. I always wanted an Emerson. And somehow the Persian really did it for me. Mind you now, I never saw one in the flesh until actually receiving it. So, long story short. As my stop smoking gift to myself I bought one. I searched just about everywhere and finally found the last one that Emerson had.

Long story short. I am very impressed with everything about the knife. I had purchased this as an EDC. But, I am thinking that it's too big and I may have made a mistake.

Any thoughts? Suggestions?
 
Congrats and welcome. I'm sure Haze could fill you in on the intricacies of the Persian.

I've always hoped for a mini Persian! Maybe one day it will happen. The Persian is an awesome design and there are some that carry it for an EDC but to me it is too large.

I prefer the mini Commander, mini CQC-8 (Horseman), mini CQC-15, and combat karambit myself for EDC's.
 
Congrats on the Persian. :cool::thumbup:

I have been carrying them for years as EDC blades and while they are indeed big they actually carry very well.
The blade shape is also pretty usefull and easy to sharpen, you just have to respect the needle point. :):thumbup:

If you really don't like it give me a shout and I'll look after it for you. ;)

I too would love to see a mini P-tac and dare I say it even a super as well :eek:
 
I'll give you a clue.... it's two words and starts with "re" and ends in "es".

OK OK, it's "red scales" I got some red G-10 for another customer and figured you would be up for some too.

I know you were absolutly hankering for one of those red 7s :p:thumbup:
 
Maybe it's just a question of me working up to the persian to be ok with using this as edc.
Right now I have been going with a cricket/ flash 1 and small laguioles.
I guess I need to trade around some stuff and get something in the @ 3" range to carry for a bit (maybe a karambit or cqc7, or p'kal).

The P-tac is one of those knives that you get used to real quick. It also makes other knives seem pretty small after you carry one for while.:p:thumbup:

Are you a broker/ customizer?? Do you sell aftermarket scales??
