I enjoyed knife collecting previously ranging from production folders to hand made custom knives made with both stock removal and forged methods with sizes ranging from small knives to big ones. Somewhere around ~2008/2009... Maybe around the time that Andy first started making knives... I went to my last knife show in Little Rock, Arkansas and bought my last two custom knives... A large Mike Ruth fighter and a sweet Jerry Lairson competitive/camp chopper. Shortly thereafter I made a conscious decision and just decided to put my knife interest/hobby on hold! I stopped going to knife shows, visiting the knife forums as well as buying knives.

A few weeks back I got the urge again and I purchased a knife from DLT Traders (a Bark River "Sahara") and because of that purchase they put me on their e-mail list and later sent me an email partially featuring the Fiddleback Forge!

Whoa... These were some neat and interesting looking knives! So I lurked at the FF website and visited all the FF dealers and then started lurking here at the FF subforum learning all about the different models. I wanted to get just one... But I ended up "sharking" two knives at a recent Fiddleback Friday followed by another one last week!

And already my wife has asked me about the new PayPal transactions coming through!!

Here is the one that came today... A Lonestar EDC 1/8" A2 SFT with natural and yellow liners and dyed box elder burl scales:

Here the Lonestar along with some of my other fixed blades:

Top to bottom:
Howard Hitchmough...drop point hunter with TT and stag scales (non-user).
J.L. Rodebaugh... forged Damascus Bird and Trout with brass guard, iron wood and copper spacers and stag handle.
Wayne Hendrix drop point hunter (model#4) with bead blasted finish TT with dark green linen micarta scales.
Murray Carter forged drop point neck knife with bone scales.

Congrats and welcome!

Perhaps get another bank account tired to another PayPal account?? There are a few members that come to mind who could use this advice. lol Juuuuuust kidding, please don't hide things from the spouses.

Welcome to the addiction. Great collection, I still want at least one of Murray Carter's knives.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! :)

I'll try to take some photos of my other two Fiddlebacks along with some group shots of a few more of my other fixed blade knives...

I really like seeing all the great photos of Fiddlebacks posted on this sub-forum but I also find it quite interesting to see some to the other knife makers that you all like and collect to go along with "AR".

Who know tomorrow is FF Friday and maybe "The One" will end up being posted and then there might be four?? ;)

Welcome aboard! This is a great forum with lots of kind helpful people. I'm sure you'll enjoy the time you spend here. Good luck if you're swimming today, or any Friday for that matter!

welcome, don't forget to share the love with all of your buddies, and introduce them to FB's.

Here is the knife that I consider to be my first FF even though I actually bought two at the same time. This pattern is the one which actually made me decide to get a Fiddleback... The Bullfrog Bowie. I'm rather partial to clip point blades in general... I seem to have quite a few in my collection.

Bullfrog Bowie 5/32" A2 TT, black and white liners with Bloodwood scales:

Bullfrog Bowie and my Spyderco Chinook (Gen-1):

Bullfrog Bowie and some of my other fixed blade clip point knives:

Top to bottom:
Kevin Cashen forged hunter with nickle silver guard and butt cap with copper liners and black Ebony(?) handle. (Non-User)
Wesley Whipple forged hunter/fighter with stainless steel guard and Turkish Walnut handle.
(Vintage) W.Scagel forged guardless hunter FT with stag scales. Makers mark stamped on the other side... It was my grandfather's personal hunting knife and saw a lot of use.
Bark River Sahara 1/8" A2 FT with Ironwood scales.

Welcome krug.

"The One" is always elusive, is it... "The One" to EDC... "The One" for camping... "The One" for kitchen duties... "The One" in 3/32 CPM... "The One" with EO Shadetree (I heard this stuff is hard to get)... "The One" that is truly "The One". Everyone has a different definition of "The One" - that's why Fiddleback Forge has so many models with blade shapes, blade thickness, handle materials, etc, etc, etc.

My favorite Fiddleback is my next Fiddleback. Happy Sharking.

I apologize to your wife...our newsletters can get the best of people :)

I always say it but we're still amazed at the knives Andy and his crew are putting out.
