First off would like to say hi!

Now the reason im here , im more into firearms than an avid knife collector but i have the urge to buy myself a really nice knife, .. i think going to be a wood handle busse,

Questions

1.) When someone has a knife listed is it ok to give the seller an offer or is it frowned upon here?

2.) I live in Ontario, is there ever any cross border shipping issues ? will any sellers here refuse to ship here or is everyone pretty well ok with it?

Thanks!!

If you have an offer other than what the seller is asking, you can send them a message privately by email. That's my suggestion. You can flag them in the thread by saying "email sent."

I think you should take it upon yourself to determine any cross border shipping issues from multiple points of view. Ultimately, it's on you and you don't want a knife you paid for confiscated at customs. I'm sure people knowledgeable in this area will chime in.

Welcome to Bladeforums!

I moved this to FEEDBACK which is where we discuss deals, rather than the knives themselves. Check out our rules:

See the FAQ for Bladeforums rules at http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/faq.php
Paid memberships at http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/payments.php
Exchange rules at http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/an...php?f=699&a=98

You need a Basic membership to post a trade thread,
or a Gold membership to sell what you've bought.

Shipping outside the US can be a contentious question. Many sellers will specify US only. (Some say CONUS, which is often not what they mean.) Be careful asking questions in the sale thread since anything that looks critical of the sale is improper:

Do not post unnecessary comments in an Exchange thread.
Do not critique the seller or the item or the price.
If you aren't actually taking the knife, stay out.

Do not post in a person's thread unless you have an implicit interest in buying the item. Posts like, "Nice knife!", "Why is the price so high/low?", "I wish I had funds" are not allowed. This means absolutely no commentary or feedback in someone's sales thread. The only exception is in the Knife Makers Market if the maker welcomes feedback.

As ReyHRH said, email inquiries are best, or you can also use Visitor Messages. (Click on the person's name to go to his profile for VMs.)

Welcome to BF

1.) IMO people don't mind offers. Personally I hate them in my sales thread so it's best to email or PM any offers or trades. Read the post carefully first to see if they state "firm" or "no trades" etc... Use your best judgement from there.

2.) Most people state where they ship to in the sales thread. Most ship only US, a lot even say CONUS (which still has me baffled). I have no problem shipping to Canada, it's very easy but costs about $15 more than the standard priority shipping. No harm in asking if you are willing to pick up the difference. Paypal makes shipping to Canada almost as easy as shipping within the US. The only kicker is that when you ship to Canada you have to hand the parcel to a post office attendant instead of just dropping it off which is just slightly more work.

There is also a section specifically for Canada sales http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php/831-For-Sale-amp-Trade-Canadian-Exchange-Forum

Cheers!
