Forum Members: I am new to bladeforums, 2 weeks, been collecting and investing in 3 knife buisness's The last year. I have been buying and hoarding al mars for 12 years. My partner who is in this business for 17 years tells me he doesn't have time for forums but is well known. I came to this forum as a spectator, looking for blades, I am disillusioned after my first 2 weeks and looking for some guidance in my quest for more knives on this forum. I started as a browser, from my 10 months as a heavy buyer on ebay, I started to recognize knives with multiple listings, as a guest, I had no leg to stand on. For 25.00 i am now a gold member. Heaven forbid this great expense! I have responded to 2 knives on this site. One was a absolutely great experiance, dogrunner (Bob) was a absolutely gracious seller! #1 in my book. The other, Konrado on forums and 2mrlucky 995 positive feedbacks on the dreaded ebay for the wopping sum of 25.00 to become a gold member advertised a paragon art series cobra for 210. with no replies for a month. 03/02 I responded with i will take it, phone #'s, email for payment,no response, on 03/8 Konrado alias the forum man checks his knives and updates them for a better offer, while I am a spectator in this forum, new with no membership, eager to get a knife I want, do not exit in this mans eyes, today on 03/14 I find this knife listed on ebay, for the first time 12 days after I bare my soul with my email, my cell# and my home # in the pursuit of one more knife that I want to own at the sellers price. Now as a gold member I made 1 more offer on a amazon piranah that this man has lowered the price on 3 times with no response, to entice a response on a multiple item purchase. I pay my BILLS fast, Is this really the way it should be! Konrado If either Of these knives sells on ebay, I will be the high bidder, Money means (*+#@!) To me. Konrado/ 2mrlucky Look at the VPs On ebay when you see the last name of swayne close to the top think about your reputation on ebay, you have already shown what it is here at forums!!!! Thank you John Swayne at Infobound1.

FYI...you only need a Gold Membership to sell on the forum, not buy.

Ken: I understand this but after, looking at some of the responses on the forum about non-members, I bucked up to make my life easier, I always pay for my merchandise up front wheather it be at a auction, knife sale or in my different business's, For the first time in a long while, I have felt less than whole due to a lack of reponse from a certain member, I am hoping that this is a isolated occurance. I see a lot of ebay bashing, but I also see guys selling here and ebay at the same time same item, while there is a slight antagonizism towards the site as a whole. I do this for the pusuit of my knives not to be part of a group. John at infobound1

many people that sell on the forums don't look at whether you are a paying member, but at how long you have been a member and what kind of reputation you have. In my opinion it is not polite to not get back to someone that has shown interest in a knife you are selling. You will find that most here are very good to deal with, but you are likely to run into others that will act in the same way that Konrado did.

Anyway, welcome to the forum and I hope that you're future experiences purchasing knives are fruitful ones.

It's also possible that your email never got thru with all the filters there are out there. Try sending email from different domains. I've had to do this before and it worked.
