Man, am I glad that I found this place! Great forum with tons of great info. Just wanted to introduce myself and ask a question. I've always enjoyed/admired knives, and can't remember a time that I was without one. However, I've just recently become serious about them. While customs are very appealing, my main interest is in moderately priced, good value for your money, tactical knives. I guess that's why I'm such a huge fan of CRKT! I currently own: MT LCC (love it!); CRKT M16-04 large tanto (love it!); CRKT Polkowski/Kasper (love this one too!); CRKT Stiff Kiss; CRKT Neck Peck; CRKT Bear Claw; Newt Livesay Tanto and SOP; CS Voyager large tanto. Will soon be adding a CRKT KFF and a Kershaw Chive. This should give a good idea of the types of knives that interest me. Would really appreciate it if anyone could point me towards more knives like these. Thanks much!

Steve

Welcome! I look forward to reading more of your posts, I think our tastes are probably similar. In terms of folders, I love spydercos above all. I think just about any spyderco knife would be a good choice, but the delica and endura series is my favorite.

Welcome Rebel’s Rainbow! How about the R.E.K.A.T. Pocket Hobbit?

yeah, buy that one too! I have one and I love it. Kind of heavy and not much for utility, but those are both good things as far as I'm concerned.
People will dissagree with me though...:)

Welcome to the forums.:) Looks like you're off to a good start already. Definitely check out Spyderco, a lot cool blades there.

Welcome aboard. I'm a big fan of CRKT as well. You might also want to take a look at Benchmade knives, particularly the axis lock models.

Welcome Rebel! Sounds like you have a nice collection. I only have three CRKTs, but they are neat knives: Bear Claw safety tip, M-16 13Z, and the P.E.C.K.

Try Spydies and the Emerson La Griffe! You may like those.

Take a look at the Benchmade 550 Griptilian. It's got a 440c blade and an axis lock, for only about $60 or $70. Also look at the Benchmade AFCK, they're only about $90 and worth every penny.

Cold Steel has a really large variety of tactical folders that while are similar to your voyager, are unique in many ways.

Welcome, Rebel!

Looks like you're off to a fine start, IMO. I certainly would recommend Spyderco too, particularly the Native and Calypso Jr Ltwt -- and several others.

I would also suggest the offerings from the Edge Tech division of Outdoor Edge -- all 3-4 of them. And, you might want to check out Timberline also.

Don't forget the CRKT LUS, another Greg Lightfoot design. One of my favorites. Also, you can get a couple Apaches still at Smoky Mountain Knife Works -- can't do URL w/out coming back to edit, and don't have time right now. The Apaches are being phased out. The large one(s) used to sell for around $60-70. Now $25. The medium and small were proportionately smaller and less expensive. The 2s are $20 and the 3s, if any left, are $15. They all have ATS34 blades, and anodized aluminum handles. IMO, they're designed almost purely for self defense chores, at least the large is. Cool knives, I think.

Rebel's Rainbow,

You are going to have to "go out of the box" and get yourself a REKAT Sifu!.:). Those Sifu folders are monsters.

Thank you all for the welcome and your recommendations. I will look into all the knives listed. I did see and handle one today that I really liked; a Massad Ayoob Spyderco. Anyone have any thoughts on that one? Thanks again.
