New to forum

Welcome! Are you the T. sisco that Yvsa said makes custom leather sheaths by any chance? I may have some work for you in the future if you are accepting new projects

In any case welcome aboard--its a great place to hang out and learn.

Terry, welcome.

Rob and fellow forumites, Terry is the gent who does most of my scabbards plus some extraordinary restorations for the various old khukuris I unearth. I can give him old photos and drawings and he produces museum quality work down to the correct stitching techniques.
His work is superb and I hope we can post some photos of the things he has done for me soon.
I insist that he marks the frogs and scabbards with his mark so if the knives are passed on no one will claim they're original from 1845 or 1915 or 1943. His work is that good.

Welcome: I was sure that you were the man John's been raving about. Glad to have you. Pull up a chair over by the cracker barrel and start tellin' stories.

Meant to welcome you last night, but the "crud" going around surprised me by coming back a week later. Thank all of you forumites for treatin' him nice to start with.

You'll find us treating you like family before you know it ( and probably without warning (VBG), so enjoy the niceness while it lasts.

I don't know if you got my e-mail so you might give me a call at 266-1822. I am almost always home in the afternoon.

I have QL's khukuri about done and hope to ship it out later towards the end of next week if I don't have any more unforeseen problems. I would like for you to see it before I ship it off.

Khukuri FAQ

Hi Terry!! Great to see you posting, hope all is well. I am a newbie here myself, though they are a very welcoming bunch as you can see.

Coincidentally I was going to give you a call next week about a nice little bone handled 19th C. Indian khuk that badly needs one of your awesome scabbards. If your workload allows it I would like to commission something nice.

Yvsa, my imagination is racing about the handle material you used on the FWCK! How about a hint, what color is it? :-)

Cheers for now,

QL.

:
QL,if I told you what color it is I might give the wood away.
I will tell you this. It isn't Bois'D Arc, but the Cherokee used to make bows from it when we were still in the old homeland. Even my wife says that you're gonna like it.

If it wasn't for keepin' a perpetual khukuri bill and wanting one made to my specs I would have to have one of these. I know now why Rusty made such a furor over how beautiful these khukuris are!!
I love how this one feels in my hand.

Khukuri FAQ

Welcome to the forum, Terry. I await with much interest pictures of your work. Jeeze, when you get Rusty, ¥vsa, and other VIP's in this forum excited, it has to be a very good thing. Going to be a bit difficult waiting unless someone with an example of Terry's work would be so kind as to post it, please, please, please?

Certainly, the forum could be described as a cantina. However, my personal view is that this is an improved version of Callahan's Crosstime Saloon.

( Shhh! you're right, harry, but everybody knows the Star Wars barscene. And like Callahan's, things get better when you spend time hanging out at Uncle Bill's ).

Quiet Limey,
Give me a call or e-mail me and I'll see what I can do for you , I'd love to see the khukuri you have.
Thanks for the kind welcome.

Kozak,
I think John Powell was going to post some pics.If everything goes ok I should have a
website before long.If I remeber right there
were some pretty nasty looking characters in
that cantina.I hope there is no resemblence
to any of you guys.
Take it easy.
Terry

Run away from the forum while you still can.

I have actually visited the original "Mos Eisley" cantina in Tunisia and I can tell you from experience that this place is even weirder.

May the Farce be with you!
