Welcome to the Cantina/Psycho Ward Stilgar!:D You wouldn't happen to have a Crysknife to trade for a 27" Carved Royal Banspati Khukuri would you?;) :D

Back off everyone!!!! I thought/mentioned it first!!!! :p

Returned "Corrin" to the library today half read. Couldn't sustain interest. Would like to re-read the original if I can locate my paperback copy.

(Spits on floor) My water is yours,it is a bond between us. I agree about the prequel novels. Brian Herbert and Anderson simply cannot keep me engrossed the way Frank could. I also have difficulty accepting some of the history they establish for the Dune books. I realize they are supposedly working from F. Herberts' notes, but there seem to be a lot of lapses in the logic.
The Dune Encyclopedia is a fantastic source of background info. Unfortunately, it was never republished after the mid 80s. It's very expensive now. I still have my copy that I bought then.
As for the crysknife, a good Fremen never surrenders his blade! :)
I've often considered having a custom made to mimic a crysknife. I have a fairly good idea what I think it should look like. So many indulgences and so little money! On that note: off to work!

I had a plastic cast crysknife, but in the end, I felt that a camel-bone handled damascus kard or choora or pesh kabz was a true crysknife.
there are many beautiful examples to choose from.
I sure wish HI made a kard.

I would LOVE to have an HI kard.
Here si the Atlanta Cutlery version, and I love it.

Still, I would love to see the HI version.

Welcome to the Cantina.. Glad to have you!

sort of reminds me of the old Star Wars Cantina sometimes, in light of recent events.. :D

No blasters! No blasters!

That's exactly the reference that gave the Cantina it's name.

Spider Robinson's "Callahan's" series was also debated as to which better fit us. We appear to be unique ( Please God ) cause two would be too many.

The references to either of the above should start warning signs flashing, as in the misguided notion: " What train? I don't see no stinking train! ".
