Just for EDC

Benchmade mini griptilian 556s combo edge drop point satin finish $69.95
Griptilian 550 hg sbk Sheepsfoot 99.95
Barrage Tanto 583 SBK 109.95
Mini Barrage 585 drop point 99.95

Or should I splurge and get the Osbourne 940 for 149.95 (without handling it this one looks the best to me. I like the reverse tanto blade)

Or should I stick to my budget and get a Kerahaw Leek or Blur for about $70?

940 of these would be my choice........but if i was looking at benchamde, i would probably be grabbing a 943. been on my list for a while

Whenever I consider getting a new knife to carry around everyday, a few things I consider are "How much would it hurt if I lost it?", and "Can I afford to replace it if I lost it?".

I'm not inclined to lose my knives, but it can happen. Will spending the extra money on a more expensive knife give you any advantage over a less expensive knife? Of course if money is not an issue, then the cost of replacement shouldn't be an issue.

You might check out some full flat grind knives. Depends on what you are planning to use the knife for. I used to hate ffg knives because they looked boring...like a kitchen knife. But u know why kitchen knives look like that? Because it works really well for actually cutting stuff! :-). Check out some spydercos. The blades dont have as many pretty angles and bevels, but they sure do excel atndoing what a knife is madento do.

I have dragonfly 2 and a manix 2 lightweight.
You should also check the paramilitary 2, and the caly 3.5.

If you are not into ffg and still want to look at spydercos, check out the frn native. S30v steel in a great design for $65 is really hard to beat!

Having said all that, benchmade makes great knives! I own the mini grip, but I prefer using my spydercos.

Not sure I follow. Two blades?

As in you have to sharpen the edges individually. It's like sharpening two smaller knives, as you can't do easily cover the whole blade with one stroke of a stone. It sounds like a small thing, but it's a pain if you're doing it regularly as you would with everyday use. A neat look, but unless you're need a boatload of piercing capability not a blade shape I'd edc. That's just my two cents.
