New to knifes/knife in theory

I'm new to the idea of knife making and am excited to get started. I have been talking to someone that makes knifes I met on another craftsmanship forum and have a good idea of what I need to do. My question is does anyone know where I can get some 1/8 or slightly larger 1084 steel? (I have looked at all the websites I have seen mentioned here and they are all sold out) Secondly I just wanted to see what yall think about my design, is a more or less simple drop point skinner. Any information is appreciated more than you can know!

Very good first knife design. Its good to see a basic "first knife" here every once in awhile:) Theres tiny things I would change like centering the pins and a bit bigger ricasso but its a solid design nonetheless.
Excitement is good, just remember to take things slow by doing the best you can with each little step. Thats what makes a good knife.

Cant help you with the steel, maybe someone here can.
