Ive just found this site . I live in south africa and have suddenly got the urge to make knifes. Can anyone give advice on any good books etc to start with. Ive never made a knife (although am very practical with my hands) but want to go about it right from the start.I have a lathe, grinders etc but will have to get other machinery as well. Folding knifes seem to get my interest. thanks Greg

I'm new here too.

You will find many "manuals" available,

But probably better to use this forum as a reference.

The wealth of talent on this site is unbelieveable.

Also, most knifemakers here are genuine with their advice.
