New to slip joints, need some guidance

The first thing you do after receiving a new or used knife. "CLEAN THAT BUFFING CARBON OUT OF YOUR KNIFE !" I use small and medium cotton gun patches. I use a worn out antique spear blade pin knife to clean out the liner tracks. Keep cleaning and keep flushing oil. Multiple blades opened on a folder can be a booby trap. Those Boker Tree Congress knives can really bite you . I tell children to have only one blade open at a time . Clean out the track and clean/close the blade . Grab a different blade and repeat. I have bought many oils/lubes for my knives and guns since 2012. Now I only use Clenzoil , Ballistol (strong smelling) , Seal1 CLP paste , and my favorite Lucas Extreme Duty Gun Oil. Lucas Extreme gun oil synthetic was designed for machine guns. Lucas Extreme Gun oil makes your knives and guns smell so wonderful. I got two bottles coming in the mail soon. Always keep your folder knife "TIP UP" in your sheath. Mike Latham (CK.net) has those Italian leather magnetic slips and they are perfect for front pocket "TIP UP" carry. The knife stays "tip up" at the top inside of your pocket for quick access. I dropped a big GEC#23LL knife and the blade tip stabbed my big toe bone. Boy did that hurt and a blood started poring out of my left big toe. (1/4" scar) Mother saved me with a band aid and a behind chewing. Always wear shoes when holding a knife between your knees. I love this hobby.
