New to Slippies, looking for a compact alternative EDC

Some people love the Tru Sharp "Surgical Steel"
Some hate it.

It seems that everybody loves the Case CV (except people for whom rust is a factor, like, say, professional 'gator wrasslers!)

From time to time, I've been known to carry an old 2-bladed Congress from the mid-50s. Not the sharpest tool in the shed, but it'll still go through an envelope like no one's business, and it's got "character" from many years of use. I'm happy with it.

I love my CV Soddie Jr., but yes, rust is a factor for me, so I don't take it to work. I usually carry my Peanut, or more and more my SAKs, Cadet and Sportsman II. Like Marcinek said, the Peanut is one hell of a knife, but it's not the be all and end all of slippies. I actually like the way my Cadet rides in my pocket best of ALL my knives. It's so slimline and thin. It's a tank as well, with it's Alox construction. I've been trying it out from time to time, leaving my Peanut home, and it does all I've asked. So does my SAK Sportsman II, with it's nylon scales instead of cellidor. This pattern was my first SAK, and I got this one at Big Lots for 7 dollars, so I just HAVE to use it to death, you know? Plus it's a little fuller then the ultra thin Cadet, so it feels the most comfortable in my hand during heavy cutting. Both get the job done, though. If I ever retire my Peanut, the Cadet or Sportsman II would be very worthy heirs to my pocket. I can't wait to try out my SAK on some reptile skin.
