New to the forum-but having fun

This will be my first official post here at Blade forum but l've learned a lot just lurking around and reading old post. I usually hang around the different gun and shooting forums as I'm an avid shooter/collector.

I've always been partial to old and new Case knives and tried to collect different bone and stag handled blades through the years although not all are Case brand.

After looking at different post I've decided to give Benchmade a try and recently ordered a Benchmade 710 plain (non-serrated) satin blade and also a Benchmade 773-BC1 (black aluminum handled) with the plain blade but with Boron Carbide coating.

So, not being an expert on knives, much less the Benchmade brand how did I do on my first couple of Benchmade's based on recommendations from this forum??? All comments on these two paticular knives are welcomed-good or bad!!!

I think you picked a couple of good ones. Boron carbide is a good hard coat. I like the 710 especially as a great every day carry, and for people with smaller hands, the 705 is a good compromise. The handle on the 710 is one of the most comfortable for me.
 
Good choice on the BM 710. I have the same one that I got in trade just to try it out. It has gradually become my EDC (at home anyway). Nice size blade for the big and small jobs. The handles will feel even better once they're worn in. Plus the axis lock gives smooth opening and closing (and it's fun to play with). I haven't handle a 773, but it's popular around here. Welcome to the forums.

Oh well I'm willing to go out on a limb again, please don't disappoint me, I'm in a fragile state, I've trusted too often, been burned even more, you haven't been in any knife fights have you, do the names NeedleRemorse, or TorzJohnson make you angry, hows your Aunt, can you safely remove the clip from a Spyderco, are you building, or have you ever built a Buck Auto Conversion with a kit ordered directly from Buck during a plant tour, and finally do you have a cousin with a machine shop that's within driving distance?

LOL.....thats funny...but you see what hes doing to us right..... we are starting think that every new poster is the same jerk. Dont let him beat us....lets resist tempation to degrade every new poster....(im pretty new myself).

Aw I'm just havin' some fun, trolls always show their true colors, until then I'm willin' to give everyone the benefit of doubt, although I think Torz and NM are closet trolls, just check their underwear. :eek:

Hey guys, this was my first post to this forum--ever. I just stumbled across it recently after trying to find out a little about Benchmade knives on the internet.

I'm very aware of what a troll is from various firearms forums that I'm a member of. I will assure you I'm not a troll here at Bladesforum or anywhere else for that matter!

Check out Rimfirecentral.com, Huntamerica.com, and 1911forum where I post frequently under the same name I'm using here-marlin39d. I've never been accused of coming in to any forum under a different name after being banned from that forum. Never been banned from any forum either!!!

Still wondering what "FF" means though! :confused: Never heard that on any other forum.

Sorry if I got off on the wrong foot with anyone here but rest asuured that was not my intentions!!!

It's short for some trolls screen name "FoldingFreak".

No offense intended, just screen babbling, and pokin' Torz with a stick, my Dad always said,"kids should never poke dead things with sticks", I'm really not sure what he meant by that but I always liked the way it sounded.
 
Wow, first day of posting here and you're already holding a "roast" on my behalf!!! (Just kidding)

No offense was meant with the headliner in my last message. My apologies if it bothered you in any way. FF stands for FoldingFreak. He is a troll who has been banned only to return to inflame, offend and disrupt a day or hours after banning. He has been under the names FoldingFreak, Godfather, DesignatedDesigner and iwantcookie. He was banned shortly before I saw your post. Hence, the Headliner. But, FF was a child who was playing games with adults. Your first post, which was very much adult and well spoken, did not have any of FF's attributes. I just put in the headliner (as a bad? joke) as others may have thought the same, but knew better when they saw your post. Again, no offense meant.........Welcome to the forums once more. Have fun.
 
Welcome to Bladeforums, Marlin! Pay no attention to the peanut gallery. They're a little overexcited right now because they've been chasing a troll but they'll settle down soon.

Guys, I moved all the troll's posts to the Whine & Cheese forum for you to have fun with. While you're having fun, notice he has a very distinctive style and his attempts to disguise himself are pathetic. He's much too stoopid to write like marlin39d. If you're planning to greet every new member this way maybe you're the ones who need to be banned. You can chase imaginary trolls all you want in Whine & Cheese, but when you're on the serious forums try to be serious, huh? What will new members think of us?

Great. You'll like this place. Been here a while andI've yet to get ticked off EXCEPT when I miss that great deal in the Knife Exchange :D
