Whats up guys im new to the forum and wanted to know what you guys would think of the knife i just made! Im not exactly sure what type of steel it is but its stainless and god was it ever a pain in the a** to drill the holes in it...
its a 4 inch blade and the knife is about 8 inches overall..
handle is made from ordinary plywood that i cut on an angle to show the different layers and that i then glued on the blade and sanded down to the finished product!
The pins holding everything together are pieces of 5/8 copper pipe!
For the varnish i used minwax satin finish with a little bit of dark brown wood stain in it so it darkens a bit!
Planning on putting a couple more coats on satin finish on it 'till im happy with the results...

Let me know what you think!

Oh crap i just realised i have no idea of how to post pictures can anyone help me out aha

Welcome to the forum not bad foe a first stab at it I like the big tube pins just because I have never see it like that before

Welcome to Blade Forums.
You seem to have interest and determination in creating things and skill doing such. I assume you just used basic tools and limited yourself to materials you had on hand, thus the plywood and 5/8 copper pipe, not really typical materials for knife making.

You might want to get some suitable handle material and blade steel and keep at it.
I hope you share your next pieces with us.

I tried a couple things for the handle material before gluing it all together and i really liked the angle cut plywood showing all the layers with the grain of the wood going in different directions! Ive been interested in making a knife for a while and have been thinking about the copper tubing and wanted to try it out! I really like the colour of it and i think its gonna add character to in when it start to turn green ish... if i ever use it again im gonna try finding some with a smaller diameter tho!

Nice first knife and good use of available materials. That shows good imagination and resourcefulness. The first knife is special. Keep it forever and keep grinding.
