Ahah, the old defender versus worker ploy. Your husband gets to scare off an intruder once every few years, while you get to do the yardwork every day. Sounds fair to me.
Like the male lion who kills a hyena now and then, while the females do most of the hunting.
I agree that the M43 is a great HI model to start with, whether it's the 18" powerhouse or the 15" pit bull, or anything in between.
I've actually handled one before, that some dude I met had. I said to myself... "Where can I buy one? They must take my money."
I'm hoping I'll get the 18" powerhouse M-43. It didn't have a selection on the the website to choose size, but from what I've heard, all the newer M-43s are the bigger versions.
When I get me new blade I'll post pics of it along with my M1A since this will become my primary (hunting/camping/bushcraft/survival/gardening) knife.
