Here is a cool new chopper I recently made. It was inspired by a knife Jimmy Fikes made in his cord wrapped series of blades. Mine has green Terra Tuff scales over 1/4in thick 5160. The blade is 15in overall with a 9 5/8in blade. The bevels are flat ground. I used a large pommel to make sure it stays in the hand during chopping. The blade has a really nice flow to it that makes it feel very useful for even delicate tasks and food prep. I can hardly wait to get it out for a trial run! :)

Very few folks do like the greenish color :( That's why I chose it for my own user :) I love the material though. It finishes out smooth but the exposed fibers give it a grip similar to heavily sand blasted canvas micarta.

Nice blade Bill! I'm not a big fan of the handle color but that's just me. Overall, I like it a lot.

i like the handle color, larger pommel and blade proportions.
sheath to hold the steels shown also?
lets see the complete setup.

No sheath yet. Need to make one up later this week(hopefully).

that is a great design, I'm working on something very similar, only it's a hidden tang in a nicely curved and figured section of elk antler. I like that handle material just fine.

Man I have always been a fan of your chopping designs. That personal chopper is great. Its good to know that makers do stuff for themselves once in a while.

I like it. Excellent blade configuration and handle ergonomics. I could probably even live with the color just to annoy my friends!:D

Wow, I would buy it like that, I like the handle colour alot.
The overall shape looks very sober and classy. Very pleasant and "utilitarian", I can feel it must be great both in the woods and the kitchen just by looking at it!

Is there a cheap "students version" of it available? ;)

Best regards,

l.
