Just got this guy running, couple hours of disassembly and greasing and hitting with a hammer then slapping and tickling and then degunking it then regreasing and oiling it and a quick coat of paint and bada bing it runs like a little swiss watch. It is a Kenco 2 ton punch press, and is awesome. I have to learn about what it can handle as far as punch sizes and how I can work things in it. The motor's weight makes tension on the belt, so if the machine overloads the motor just hops and the belt slips, instead of exploding parts into my chest :D

Cute

I could play with that all day, neat mechanism.

Ya, you can tell it's a geared motor - the shaft is off center of the motor

What can you do with it?

Count, me too! I love machines and this is a very cool machine-y machine!

Not sure yet what I can do with it, I am going to try and build a 3 point bender on it, with a threaded bushing in the ram and a fine thread grade 8 or 9 bolt in that (so as to make the contact with the steel adjustable) then make a deck plate that has adjustable points closer and farther away from the center point. With this I think I can do 1/4" thick by 1" wide hoops. Also going to make a 1" square punch/shear. That way I can cut 90 corners and then nip off along the edge of something, probably can handle up to 1/8" thick steel while hot. I see in Japanese knifemaker videos they do this alot and they have big punch presses and do the whole edge profile in one shot, little guy though I need to take little bites.

Err, love the paint station!:eek:I like that theory of paint anything that ain't moving!

So its got a psychedelically painted wheel that goes round and round and through hypnotism........... you begin grabbing pointing things and make stabbing motions in the air......................... but what else does it do?????

Will it actually generate 2 tons of press power?

That might be actually useful!..............Dies to punch out parts.....................hmmmmmm:confused:

Sam you got to get a hobby you know what I mean!:D Kool video though!

Ok that's the bestssssssss feedback I can generate for tonight!

Yes Dix, exactly!!!

That's my mobile paint truck!

Should be able to make some nice tooling for it, so far though I only have an idea for a 3 point adjustable bender for now. I'll be able to make rings out of up to 1/4" by 1" at most.

It will generate 2 tons, but in reality 2 tons is not very much force.

What are you talking about this IS MY HOBBY!!!

I'll bet that little dude would punch out folder shields at a hell of a rate. Spinner blade sized
stuff out of thin metal. Very cool machine.
Ken.
