I've had my eye on this hardness tester on Enco's website for quite some time. Enco was running a 20% off sale last week, so I couldn't resist. The darn thing weighs 150 pounds! It works great! I test 3 fillet knives (ATS-34) I recently HT'd. I was shooting for 58-60 RC, and they were all 61-62. I also tested the first fillet knife I made (440c) and it was just 52. No more guessing!

And last week I also ordered a glass lined patten for my Coote Grinder. What a difference that makes. It runs much cooler, and it is flat! Now I just need to retire from my day job, so my night job can become my day job. :)

Congrats!!! What an awesome purchase. I have a small portable tester I bought for a deal on ebay. It chucks in the drill press and works well, but I'd eventually like to have the precision of a self contained machine. Enjoy!

Those are nice to have. I have access to a rockwell which is a good thing cause the wife would probably kill me in my sleep if I bought one. :) Nice buy.
