New TOPS models on Woodsmonkey

I like quite a few of TOPS' knives: the Anaconda, the Armageddon, The Hoodlum, The Tracker, several others, but nothing in that bunch really jumps out at me for some reason.
Maybe I'm just getting bored with knifedom...

Is it just me or is the Survival Hypo just a piece of pipe cut at an angle? Also if you need to whittle down a branch to put it to use as a spear well then just put a point on that branch, fire harden it and you have a functional spear. Some of the other designs look nice though. Good Luck.

I was thinking the same thing. I could make one from a piece of pipe from Home Depot for about $2 and a few minutes in the garage. That one will probably cost 10X that.

There is no barb to keep whatever you spear from falling off and swimming or floating down stream.

It limits the size of shaft you can use where a spear that can be tied on (like the Hoffman Harpoon) doesn't. Whittling down a shaft to fit the Hypo is easy enough but why do it if you don't have to.

And last, it just seems like a bunch of dead weight to haul around. I'd rather have something like the modified blade drill bit that has been posted here in the past.

The only ones that look interesting to me are the ECO hawk and Joe hawk.

I finally lived long enough to see Tops knife that I would consider buying, Th Shango. If I could get one at about half price, it would be a bargain.

I love mine, and actually EDC it. A fantastic little knife that's a lot like a stainless Izula with a full-length handle.

This hawk head is so AWESOME you will need TWO handles for that. :)

That's exactly the facetious remark that entered my head when I first saw it.:p Seriously...I just don't get that one.:o

I have several JK models about that size. One has real thin scales. The blade is 3 inches, 1/8 01 steel

Got to handle alot of the new stuff at SHOT this week.

Alot of really cool designs. The X est thingamabobber was pretty cool but I would prefer a real point on it.

That daisy-cutter is a beast, at least a half inch thick.

The Hawks are going to be big sellers.

I imediately thought of pitdog when I saw that one. :p He's got a thing for wide blades.

Man am I that predictable nowdays !:D

That was the one that immediately caught my eye actually but for me it would need a straight edge, I'm not a big fan of recurves !

I agree with you there Pit. No re-curves for me. I don't mind them on a Machete because I just run them across the belt sander to sharpen. I have trying to sharpen re curves on a stone.

WHAT! NO KUKABOLO!>!>!>!>!

"Power Eagle"
12", FULL FLAT AND TAPERED. I got to handle one at Shot. Light, fast, and the handle was surprisingly comfy.
