Gun shows are like pawn shops. Most of the time you walk in and leave disappointing and disgusted at the prices. But sometimes, just sometimes you score big and it makes it all worth while.
Spurred by my love for all things that go 'bang!' and all the great pics by Dr. Lunde, I picked up this Ed Brown Special Forces model 1911 today. This pistol completes my evil triad of Baer, Wilson, and Brown (sounds like a law firm
). The fit and finish are superb. Notice that it is slightly dehorned throughout for carry.
It is used, but not too much. It came with Ed Brown carry bag 4 mags and 3 sets of grips. Still, I'll probably switch out the grips. I'm thinking about some VZ micarta's.
Should I go with Black paper, Black linen, Green linen, or Green and Black linen? They all look cool and I can't decide.
Some pics with obligatory Busse porn...
A special thanks to Lunde for the good advice to pick this one up... It cost me a nice Colt Series 70 (plus $$) safe queen, but it is one of the best trades I've made IMO. I'm gonna enjoy this one!
Now if I can just learn how to take better pictures...
