New toy ordered.

...I'm curious of those who endorse this grinder, who is paying full retail and who is getting a discount for their participation?

I see the advantages of some things, like the H/V and adjustable belt tension, but $ 3,200 is pretty steep.

(in fact I don't know how the KMG can be so successful with no handy tensioner adjustment..especially compared to the square wheel)

I can see this grinder becoming more popular when he has sufficient volume and maybe outsources production so the prices come down. or the home built versions start becoming more wide spread.

Something I notice on "knifemaker" grinders Bader, KMG, this one...is the total lack of guarding or dust collection shield. I would think at least if there was a optional shroud, they could have more sales to industrial customers and those kifemakers that want better dust collection..

I am inclined to agree.

I don't think $3,200 is too much money. You have to factor in the time savings. On one project Josh saved at least 18 hours. If Josh charges $50 per hour for his shop time the grinder made him $900. If Josh can continue to save an hour or two per knife the grinder will be paid for in less than a year.

We've been seriously thinking about buying a few of these grinders. The versatility of the grinder and the money we will make is attractive. Josh's comments have confirmed my thinking.

Erik, I can't wait to see what you make with your new grinder.

I don't offer my opinions due to discounts whatever things someone may suggest. I am suggesting this grinder because it kicks ass.

Just as I suggested the KMG when I bought it. At the time I felt the KMG was top of the line. I feel this grinder is far superior.

I also suggested the Imagination Express until I had Matt Whitmus build my press and rolling mill. Once I received those machines I talked them up big time on the forums and at my hammer in. Not because of discount but instead because they are superior items all knife makers should know about.

I also have a great desire to see Travis succeed. He is a great person and took a huge financial risk to bring this grinder to market. This is my way of helping him out.

You can take my opinions how you like and if you want to spin them have at it. Bottom line is that it is my opinion that the TW-90 is the grinder to have.

I'd love to see more photos and specs of that rolling mill, it is the best of it's kind that I have seen..

As I said earlier...I bought and picked up a grinder from Travis about 10 days ago on my way to Mexico. I have it down here now and ground, fit and put together two slipjoints today. Have a bit of cleanup to do yet. It is a very good grinder no matter the price. It is steady, firm, and very well built. It tracks beautifully and no one pays me to use it or discounts it to me. Travis has a winner in this grinder. Any questions..email me.

Looks like a great grinder. I checked it out at Blade and was impressed. If I didn't just buy a KMG, I'd probably order one.

I just got my new grinder from Travis. That makes two and what a pair they are. I can not believe how nice this machine is. Hancock and I were on the phone last night for 30 minutes talking about what cool things you can do with this. Thanks Travis. This thing rocks!

It sure looks impressive and I've never known Josh to exaggerate. I've seen Josh's shop and equipment and I have to say its all impressive. He's in this as a business and I know it pays to buy the best you can afford. Apparently business is good. Go Josh and Erik! *&%(()(^%$^**&%$$ my terrets syndrome is kickin in again

When I saw the pictures of the grinder and the price tag, i said HUH? But after watching the vidoes I said OHHHH!!! Too bad I can't afford one right now. Of course, Travis next needs to create a small wheel setup that will do integrals as fool resistant as his other attachments seem to work.;)
