pretty sweet 1hp 14 inch industrial 3 speed band saw. I can get 14 or 18 tpi bi metal blades to cut steel and g11 should work good. I cut 2 inch santos rosewood like butter today. kellyw

I didnt buy it to cut metal, but I was told it will . On the slow speed , thats a 1000 ft per min I have a Bi metal band saw blade 14 tpi and All I want it to do is to cut g11 and all my wood I have . I can buy a extention for 80 bucks but I have 6 inches clearance now and I think thats good enough. They are on sale for 699.00 canadian and with 2 extra bi metal blades it come to 800 taxes paid. I am quite sure it will cut g11. I am looking into getting a plasma cutter in my opinion might be better than a metal band saw with no blades to break and oil it might be better for cutting out blades. I would like to know what is the average speed for a metal cutting band saw. ???
