I've been looking for a knife similar to the one in the movie "The Hunted" for quite some time. I've looked at the TOPS version which is sub-par to say the least. I've even emailed both Dave Beck and Roger Linger about their WSK and Tracker knives but $600+ is just too steep for me. I stumbled upon a tracker style knife on Ebay last week that caught my eye though. I ended up buying it but don't have it yet. It's made by a brand new company called Red Scorpion Six blades. It's run by Aaron Pullen, a knife enthusiast who's has also seached everywhere for a tracker. He's only making 1000 blades, all serial numbered. www.redscorpionsix.com is the web address. He's not shipping them in mass until February 15 due to his company moving. I happened to be his very first customer. I'll be sure to give a review on the blade.

Looks interesting but i have my doubts about this for some reason. Some thing just doesn't seem right about it.

Are there any patent laws being broken in this?

I don't know about the patent laws. He doesn't refer to it as "Tracker" or "WSK" though. The real name is "The Predator".

There was a pretty decent thread on this a little while back, but the search function hates me. Apparently the owner was posting about it and seemed rather defensive about giving away his knifemaking secrets when he was asked about the materials and the hardness of the steel. I think he left.

Ohh wait, got it.

Beat me to it!

I can say being new here I thought at first, things might be a bit harsh on RS6 but, seems more experienced folks saw through his act.

I think if the guy would have said something like" Hey I saw that there was a big demand for this style knife so I put out some cash to have a run made and here are the specs" that he would have been better received.

What really made me feel that they guy was full of S&^% was this comment

jeez, I guess I could answer all of those particulars. I wasn't perpared for such and interrogation Ranger training doesn't perpare a guy for you guys. lol

RS6- Blades

What a tool. I think on top of misrepresenting his product, he is a poser!

That is one very controversial statement... I like WSK style knives... how sub-par is the TOPS version? I am also looking forward to hear from your review  .

It just looks to me like they skimped on the design to save money in mass production. I'm comparing it to the Dave Beck knives. (i.e. the saw back and gut hook features.)

Yeah, I'm very excited to actually get my hands on this blade.

The same thing has been said many times over by other people who had them custom reground.

As for breaking laws, it is alright to do it if you are a custom maker but you can't do a production run - sounds like odd laws to me.

All the press here did the guy a favor anyway, he jacked his price up 25%. No surprise he left considering how he was treated.

He was open to having one reviewed, he said so directly in the survival forum, but the attacks just kept piling on and he left.

Yeap, no chance for a warm welcome... I still think he should submit one for testing or passaround... people take into account the opinions in this forum.

Here is a guy who has watched "Red Dawn" too many times and saw the way to make a quick Buck!! I think we all know the type too well.

The Saw back appears to be poorly done (all inline teeth so it seems), elongated handle...

Let's just keep this one puts up a knife for testing or more probably goes away... Eh?

Wow, this knife must be cursed or something. That other thread about it was like WW III. Just so you all know, I'm not in cahoots with RS6 but I'm open to all suggestions on the various ways you'd like me to test this blade out to make sure it isn't a POS. If it cracks in half, I'll be sure to let you know. I'll get better pics of it too cuz his site does suck when it comes to anything helpful about the product.

First test I'd suggest performing with it is an emergency field lobotomy on RS6 himself to see if it does anything for his messed up attitude.:D

Yeah I think the site and the knife is BS until someone comes forward on it, with a real one thats numbered and puts it through some tests. The site is poorly put together with little info on the knife and almost no pics to speak of and my god I need pics and lots of em at a website selling a new product, especially one this controversial. Also I would like to see a forum passaround(I know its already been mentioned). If it turns out to be legit and quality I would have no problem investing in said knife, but I doubt that will ever happen and I think eventually this knife will fall into the attempted "shill" category.

These are some words from the website:

"Our knives are 440C Stainless Steel that holds that Razor edge all the time."

"The Predator is easy on the pocket book but highest quality manufacturing."

" We are very excited and pleased to offer only the finest in tactical blades. Where Tactical Begins! RS6 Blades."

If only it had blood grooves it would be perfect:jerkit:

The main promotion of Tracker style blades is wood craft, so chop/cut and cut/carve/shave wood for tinder, traps, shelter, clothing, bedding, primitive weapons, etc. . How does it handle (security/comfort), how does it sharpen, corrosion resistance, etc. . What would be most meaningful is if you had something to compare it to so you can say it cuts better/worse than XXX.
